Five cars were stolen earlier this morning from a car dealership in Altrincham after thieves used a vehicle to ram through a perimeter wall.

A man had earlier broken into Evans Halshaw on Manchester Road before stealing a number of car keys.

Ten offenders then returned around 2.00am this morning and stole the five cars.

Inspector Dave Jones of GMP’s Trafford Division said: “This was a well-planned burglary that has deliberately targeted this business premises.

“I know people in the community will be worried by this burglary.

“I would like to reassure the public and advise we are treating this as an isolated incident and are determined to find those responsible.

“We have been following a number of lines of enquiry and are appealing for the public to come forward with any information or dashcam footage they might have.

“While this burglary took place in the early hours, the offenders used a vehicle to ram a wall to enable them to get the vehicles out.

“As such I believe there may be potential witnesses who may have been in the area at the time who have either seen or heard the incident on going.  I would urge those people to contact the police as soon as possible.”

The vehicles stolen during the incident are as follows:

GF62 WEP Ford Focus in silver.

MK18 LGC Ford Fiesta in blue.

DN18 JJZ Ford Fiesta in grey.

MH68 EOU Ford Fiesta in silver.

MJ19 OEX Ford Fiesta in white.

Anyone with information including any sightings of the stolen vehicles should call police on 0161 856 7527 or 101 quoting incident number 523 of 27/05/2019, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
