Two men have been charged following an axe attack in Rochdale.

Mohammed Sajid aged 21 of Kings Road and Habibur Rahmen aged 25 of Milnrow Road, Rochdale have both been charged with attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm.

Rahmen has also been charged with a racially aggravated public order and assault.

The charges follow an incident the 17 October last year when a nineteen year old man suffered serious hand injuries after he was struck with an axe on Church Road.

They have both been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Friday 16 February 2018.
