Stretford Foodhall and Sale’s Groceries and Beer have a packed roster of the very best independent street food heroes heading to the suburbs this August! 

Stretford Foodhall

Stretford Foodhall hosts three regularly changing street food vendors at their spacious community hub offering up a global banquet of incredible food from the very best independent brands around.

It’s all centred around a 130 cover dining area, and serviced by a bar and coffee shop with an ever changing menu of artisan pastries and cakes too.

Stretford food vendors coming up include;

Clean Eatin’ Kebabs… Seitans Kebab – Monday 19th July – 16th August

Lebanese-inspired, British Streetfood Award Finalist,  Seitan Kebab brings a plant-based alternative to the much-loved kebab experience. 

Whether it’s ‘dirty’ doners, souvlaki or Shawarma, Seitan have an amazing vegan alternative.

Menu highlights include;

  • Doner Kebab – fresh loaded flatbread with salad and seitan doner strips, drizzled in chilli and garlic sauce topped with pickled cabbage and sumac.
  • Shawarma kebab – fresh loaded flatbread with succulent shawarma, drizzled in garlic and lemon, and tahini sauce topped with pomegranate seeds, coriander and sumac.

Oodles of Noodles… Dim Sum Su – Monday 26th July – 2nd August 

eFoodhall regulars, Dim Sum Su are back in Stretford serving up their pan-Asian delights all  inspired by their Hong Kong family recipes.

Choose from a diverse range of Asian eats;

  • Chinese steamed bao buns with either hoisin jackfruit, satay aubergine, crispy beef or Japanese or karaage chicken,
  • Curried udon noodles
  • Tantalising burgers with either hoisin, satay or karaage chicken.

Brand New Residency… Yard and Coop – 2nd – 16th August

Independent Northern Quarter chicken joint Yard and Coop is coming to Stretford for the first time bringing the best buttermilk fried chicken around to the neighbourhood.

Expect their signature juicy thighs, sticky wings, beaut burgers and heavenly kebabs. All served up with their homemade sauces:Dr Pepper BBQ, hot honey, blue cheese, butter buffalo, garlic ranch, or pineapple teriyaki.

Totally Mor-ish… Eat MorMor – 16th August 13th September 

The award-winning Eat Mor Mor began and grew in popularity in the steel city of Sheffield; and thankfully have since brought their gorgeous Levant flavours to Manchester via Hatch.

They’ll be spreading their wings and hitting the streets of Stretty from 16th August! And yes, that will include their famous signature chicken shawarma.

Inspired by the dynamic flavours of East Mediterranean cuisine, their food centres around health colour, and flavour.

Fan favourite dishes include;

  • Signature chicken shawarma – marinated Yorkshire reared chicken thighs, on a fresh Kurdish naan with yoghurt, hummus, tzatziki, harissa topped off with sumac, pickles and pomegranate.
  • Fiery padron peppers tossed in harissa salt.
  • Falafel salad – freshly made falafels with vegan aioli, mixed pickles finished with harissa, sumac and pomegranate seeds.

What’s your Beef? – 16th August – 13th September

Rochdale duo, Eddie and Neil know their beef! Using ethically sourced, grass-fed beef to make “the best burgers on the planet” they will be heading to Stretford to beef up the Foodhall menu 7 days a week from 16th August.

Their favourite burgers include;

  • Double Trouble – two signature beef patties, mature cheddar, streaky bacon  and ketchup.
  • Fiery Bull – Signature beef patty, spinach, beef tomato, chorizo, manchego, yellow peppers topped with homemade sweet chilli  hot sauce.
  • No Beef, Still Awesome –  Homemade bubble and squeak patty infused with Edam and Panko, Mexicana cheddar, spinach, red onion topped with chipotle ketchup.

Groceries and Beer in Sale 

Over in Sale there’s a brilliant line up of street food heroes heading to Groceries and Beer too. Like Stretford Foodhall, Groceries and Beer is a community focused cafe and grocery store, with space for one rotating streetfood vendor. The venue will be soon be expanding to a bigger site, but in the meantime, the small but perfectly formed collection of cracking traders heading to Sale include:

Basilico – Monday 19th July – 16th August 

Bringing a stunning taste of Naples to Sale, Basilico uses organic ingredients to create authentic artisan pizzas. Owner Alberto creates handmade pizzas with love and care and it shows with every pizza that comes out the oven.

Dim Sum Su – 16th August – 15th September

Award-winning Dim Sum Su will be heading to Sale too!
