Herbivores get ready as Manchester’s favourite Japanese restaurant is offering a new veggie-friendly menu that will be available for one week only to celebrate National Vegetarian Week.

From 13th to 19th May, Shoryu Ramen, based in Piccadilly Gardens, will be offering an exclusive vegetarian set menu, as well as brand new dishes including a new veggie alternative to their popular Karaka Tan Tan ramen. For a limited time only, diners can enjoy an authentic three-course menu for just £22 to include Shoryu Ramen’s famous soft buns and ramen.

To start, the much-loved Shoryu Bun has been turned as green as Mother Earth herself! Coloured by matcha green tea, the bun comes with a range of fillings to choose from, including Atsuage Fried Tofu with Hirata vegetable sauce, or Grilled Halloumi with avocado and Japanese mayo.

Moving through to the mains, there’s a choice of two veggie dishes on the menu. The new Quorn Karaka Tan Tan ramen is a rich and spicy dish with Quorn mince marinated in white miso, garlic and chiu chow, vegan soy milk & shiitake broth topped with a Japanese poached egg and chilli oil. The vegan option on offer is the classic White Natural Ramen, made using a unique tonyu soy milk, miso, konbu and shiitake broth, astuage fried tofu, kikurage mushrooms, menma bamboo shoots, spring onion and nori seaweed.

To finish things off, diners will be served two pieces of palate-cleansing Mochi Ice Cream with the choice of Matcha, Yuzu and vegan Chocolate flavours – all perfectly paired with some authentically Japanese drinks.

Customers can choose from the Japanese Royal Warrant brewery Gekkeikan’s Kobai Plum Wine, a light and fruity Strawberry Calpico, or brand new Kombucha drinks from Remedy Drinks. The Original Kombucha flavour is a sweet and sour fermented bubbly brew with apple cider notes, perfect for those rainy days in Manchester! And for anyone ready for a summer health kick, there’s also the Kombucha Ginger Lemon flavour – a low sugar, guilt-free take on ginger beer that’s hot and sour, fiery and tangy all-in-one.

Get ready to go green with Shoryu Ramen this National Vegetarian Week from 13th – 19th May 2019!
