A 17-year-old male with injuries consistent with a stabbing was found on Ryder Brow Road
A 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and remains in custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Natasha Feerick of our city centre division said: “We understand how concerning incidents like this can be for the local community, and we want to reassure residents that we are fully committed to tackling violent crime and keeping our streets safe.
“The Section 60 authority has been put in place to give our officers enhanced powers to stop and search individuals in the area, helping us to prevent further violence and identify those responsible.
“An arrest has been made, and we are working hard to identify further suspects. Extra patrol officers have been deployed around the local area both on foot and in patrol cars. If you have any concerns, our officers will be happy to provide reassurance and listen to any of your queries.”
