Pets at Home is moving to a brand-new Petcare Centre and Vets for Pets veterinary practice on Regent Regent which is just a three-minute walk away from its previous location on Regent Retail Park on Friday 27th March.

The £1.3 million investment will increase the store and veterinary practice by almost 4,000 sq. ft, with the vet practice more than doubling in size and expanding its consultation rooms from two to five. This will give even more pet owners access to high quality, convenient veterinary care. The expanded retail footprint will also provide a broader product range and an improved, more spacious shopping experience – bringing everything local pet owners need under one roof.

Following the move from Regent Retail Park, Pets at Home and Vets for Pets will be taking up residence in the former Staples unit, which closed almost a decade ago.

The practice has also re-branded from Companion Care to Vets for Pets joining a growing national network of 450-plus locally owned practices. Joint Practice Owners, Dr Antonio Nocco and Madalina Obreja will lead their 17-strong team with complete clinical and operational autonomy, supported by the nation’s most trusted vet brand.

Open seven days per week, with free parking, the purpose-built practice will have dedicated cat and dog waiting areas, dental x-rays, operating theatres, haematology, digital x-rays and ultrasound capabilities, an in-house laboratory, acupuncture and a Pet Passport service – giving local pet owners easy access to expert veterinary care.

Joint Practice Owner Madalina Obreja said: “Antonio and I are incredibly excited to open our purpose-built practice inside the brand-new Pets at Home Petcare Centre. We have been caring for the pets of Salford for many years and our passionate team is dedicated to providing high-quality, first opinion care to the local community. Our new practice gives us more space, facilities and modern equipment to continue doing what we love – supporting pets and the people who love them.”

The grand opening is set for 11am on Friday 27 March where ‘CEO’ Martha the practice’s resident Shih Tsu will help to cut the ribbon to officially mark the opening.

Local pet owners can expect an opening weekend packed with activities*, including:

  • Free goodie bags
    • Free face painting (Saturday & Sunday, 10:30am-2:30pm)
  • Free pupcakes (plus cupcakes for well-behaved humans)
  • Free Pet Pals workshops
  • A ‘Golden Bone’ treasure hunt, with five £50 bones hidden around the store
  • Behind-the-scenes tours of the vet practice plus free acupuncture taster sessions

This opening is part of Pets at Home’s ongoing investment in its physical estate and local communities, taking the new locations in March from 4 to 5, and capital investment from £3million to more than £4.3million with two being in the North West.
