The event will be compèred by Johnathan Mayor, who is a huge cult figure in comedy and one of the stars of the Manchester alternative performance scene, making regular appearances not only on the stand-up circuit but also at many LGBTQ+ events.

The Greater Manchester Fringe Awards & Closing Party is free to attend and is open to performers, writers, directors, cast & crew, media and all friends & fans of the Greater Manchester Fringe itself.

The team would like to thank everyone who has performed and attended shows and helped to make 2022’s Fringe Festival a huge success.

There are still several shows left between now and the final day of the Fringe Festival, Sunday 31st July. See the website for details.

Lisa Connor, Director of The Greater Manchester Fringe said, “What a welcome back! This year’s fringe has been the tonic everyone has needed. All participants should be proud. The reviews and feedback have been excellent.”

Next up the awards….Not just about the accolades, a great chance to meet fellow creatives, promote your show and future performances, and start planning for 2023!”

Iain Scott, Director of The Greater Manchester Fringe added, “It has been great to witness the resurgence of live performance post pandemic and this year’s festival has released so much pent-up talent from writers, performers and producers.

This year will rank as one of our most memorable to date and we look forward to celebrating together at our awards and closing party on 7th August.”
