Families are invited to dig into a world of imagination this May Bank Holiday Monday as Merseyway Shopping Centre hosts Let’s Grow at The Wonderway Tree.

Taking place on Monday 25th May 2026, this free-to-attend family experience will transform Merseyway into a magical pop-up allotment, packed with playful gardening inspired fun, immersive storytelling and hands-on experiences for children of all ages.

The event marks the official launch of The Wonderway Tree – a magical tree installation at Merseyway designed to host a summer-long programme of creative, educational and family-friendly experiences. Positioned in the centre mall outside Specsavers, The Wonderway Tree has been created as an imaginative community space where children and families can come together to learn, play and explore.

To celebrate its launch, Merseyway has collaborated with Let’s Grow to bring a pop-up allotment experience to the centre of Stockport. Hosted by The Vegetable Nannies, children will be invited for “a bit of gardening and childcare”, as they help feed, bathe and care for the adorable baby fruits and vegetables.

Shows will take place at 11am, 1pm and 3pm, with each session lasting approximately 45 minutes. Places will be given on a first come, first served basis and the event is completely free to attend.

Created by husband-and-wife team Mimi and Ben Faulks, also known to many families as Mr. Bloom from CBeebies and co-creator and presenter of the award-winning Mr. Bloom’s Nursery, Let’s Grow encourages children to explore themes of nature, nurture, wellbeing and healthy eating through immersive play experiences.

Victoria Nichol, Centre Manager at Merseyway said: “The Wonderway Tree is a really exciting addition to Merseyway, and we’re delighted to launch it officially with such a fun experience for families. We wanted to create a space that sparks imagination and brings learning and play together in a unique way – somewhere children can immerse themselves in creative experiences and make lasting memories throughout the summer. We can’t wait to welcome families to enjoy this fantastic free event over the Bank Holiday weekend”.
