Lane7, a group of 11 boutique bowling alleys, has launched a range of bowling
balls featuring famous faces of world leaders, including the UK’s prime minister
Boris Johnson and Scottish leader Nicola Sturgeon.

As revealed on Lane7’s social media, beginning today April 1st, Lane7 has revealed the first faces in their ‘Balls of Fame’, starting with political rivals Boris Johnson and Nicola Sturgeon, but with plans to roll the honours to other global statesmen.

With staff members already calling them the Boris Balls, Lane 7 are hoping the balls will become as synonymous with the UK leader as London’s ‘Boris Bike’ scheme launched by Boris Johnson during his time as the city’s mayor.

Formed in 2013, Lane7 has spent the past decade transforming the bowling experience, with 11 locations across the UK – from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, and Newcastle in the North, Manchester, Sheffield, and Liverpool in the North, Birmingham, and Leicester in the Midlands, down to Bristol in the south.

Beyond bowling, the venues offer a range of other activities per venue including vintage arcade, electronic carnival games, shuffleboards, beer pong, pool tables and karaoke.

Dan Kelly, Operations Director, Lane7 said, “Politicians are often divisive figures so we’re allowing our guests to vote in a slightly different way. If this is successful, we might even see a ballot ball one day replace the ballot box”.

The politician balls follow the 11-strong group’s seasonal Christmas bowling balls featuring a Christmas pudding.
