It’s no secret that the late Queen and Queen Mother were both partial to the odd drop of gin (usually with Dubonnet) and perhaps that’s one tradition the new King is keen to carry on. To celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, Salford’s FOUR SIS4ERS DISTILLERY has launched a limited-edition fruit-waste strawberry gin – creating the perfect toast for the additional bank holiday weekend.

‘Wonky Windsor’ is a new pink gin made with ‘cast off’ British strawberries which, although perfectly edible, would otherwise be discarded. Distilled slowly in the SIS4ERS Arnold Holstein copper still, this spirit has been inspired by King Charles’ love of the environment and his passion for sustainability.

The perfect tipple for a local gin lover to commemorate the royal celebration, this strawberry gin is best served with elderflower tonic over ice with strawberry garnish. Or you could add a double shot of prosecco and top with lemonade for the perfect summer cocktail.

The quirky keepsake is 37.5% ABV and available in 50cl bottles for a limited time only.

Born and bred in the heart of Salford, FOUR SIS4ERS DISTILLERY launched in 2017. The gin makers produce a range of five delicious, flavoured gins and a Spiced Rum.

Hayley Robinson, Director of FOUR SIS4ERS DISTILLERY, said: “King Charles is passionate about the environment, and we are passionate about sustainability – so we thought it would be a great idea to use fruit food waste for this latest gin, to repurpose the strawberries into something special to mark such an iconic occasion.

“With street parties, garden BBQs and coronation picnics happening up and down the country, this gin is the perfect addition to any get together. We want to say cheers from Salford, and hope everyone can celebrate this historic moment with friends and family.”

Wonky Windsor Gin is exclusively available from sis4ersdistillery.com/shop. The gin is available for pre-order from April 18th, 10am for £26.00.
