New research has revealed that Salford is Manchester’s most pizza obsessed borough.
The study, conducted by entertainment experts CasinoGuide researched each borough within Manchester based on how many pizza restaurants are available via the Just Eat app.
Salford, with a population of 262,697, has 94 pizza restaurants available via the Just Eat app, which equates to 2,795 people per takeaway. The area has the highest ratio of restaurants to people, proving how popular pizza is in the borough.
Taking second spot Bolton, with a population of 288,248 people and 90 restaurants, comes in second place with 3,203 people per pizza restaurant.
Bury comes in third, totalling 3,406 people per restaurant. This comes as a result of a population size of 190,708 and 56 pizza restaurants available in the area
In fourth place is Stockport, with a population of 294,197 and 3,421 people per pizza restaurant. Out of the 86 pizza restaurants in Stockport, 50% of them have 5+ star ratings and only 6 of the restaurants in the borough are under 4 stars, meaning the majority of pizza restaurants in Stockport are of high quality and extremely popular.
The borough which follows in fifth place is Trafford with a population of 237,579 and 4,242 people per pizza restaurant.
Rochdale and Tameside take sixth and seventh place, with Rochdale sitting at 4,473 people per pizza restaurant and Tameside with 4,542.
Oldham takes eighth place with 51 restaurants and 4,659 people per restaurant, leaving Manchester City which has the largest population in Manchester, 555,741, to take ninth place with 104 restaurants overall but 5,344 people per restaurant.
Despite Wigan’s population of 330,712 (just over half of the population of Manchester City), it is in the tenth position for ‘Manchester’s most pizza-obsessed borough’. Wigan’s locals can enjoy any of its 53 pizza restaurants, with 6,240 people per restaurant.
