Fully vaccinated Brits are to be let into Europe without having to tke pre departure Covid tests

The plans will also mean British children who have not been fully vaccinated are also permitted to travel to the EU provided that they have a negative pre-departure PCR test.

The changes are being brought in by the EU Council ehich is recommending a one-size-fits-all approach to travel in Europe which would simplify entry requirements for those travelling from outside the EU,

The European Commission is said to be “optimistic” most EU and EEA countries will implement the new EU Council recommendation, although they are not rules so member states can deviate from them if they choose.

The regime will come into effect on Mar 1, well in advance of the Easter school holidays in the first two weeks of April, and is expected to apply to all those who have been double or triple jabbed within 270 days of their arrival within the country.
