A report that claims that nine Russian business people have donated money to the Conservative Party is at the centre of a row after it is being claimed that the government has suppressed its publication until after the election.

The report from Parliament’s  Intelligence Security Committee (ISC) is alleged to include details of Oligarchs and other wealthy Tory donors involved with illicit Russian activities in Britain and whose publication has been blocked by No 10.

According to the Sunday Times, The largest Russian Tory donor is Lubov Chernukhin, the wife of Vladimir Chernukhin, a former ally of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.

She paid £160,000 in return for a tennis match with Johnson and has donated more than £450,000 in the last year alone.

The Home Secretary Sadi Javid claims the report’s delay is normal for the timescales involved.

Andrew Gwynne, Labour campaign co-ordinator, responding to reports that nine Russian donors to the Conservative Party are named in a secret intelligence report on threats to UK democracy suppressed by Downing Street, said:

“Billionaires fund the Conservative Party, so this sordid cover up shouldn’t be surprising.

“The Tories blocked this report and oppose tax transparency so their billionaire backers can continue to rip us off unchallenged.
