The UK’s largest gym operator has announced the relocation of its Manchester Exchange Quay gym to a new and improved site.
PureGym Salford Quays, conveniently located on Markendale Place, near the Travelodge, will open at 12pm on 22 May 2026 and provide members with state-of-the-art equipment and the latest classes – all through its low-cost, zero-contract memberships.
The existing PureGym Manchester Exchange Quay will close on 18 May, and memberships will be automatically transferred to the new and improved PureGym Salford Quays.
The brand-new gym will provide members with 24/7 access to everything they need to reach their fitness potential and enhance their overall wellbeing, including:
  • A dedicated Women’s Workout Space, featuring a free weights area with adjustable benches, dumbbells, and a mix of upper and lower body focused fixed pin equipment
  • Over 160 pieces of state-of-the-art equipment
  • A functional zone, free weights area, fixed resistance, cardio equipment, a fitness studio, and a cycling studio
  • A brand-new Shape area, a beginner-friendly strength zone, featuring lighter barbells, dumbbells, glute-focused machines and benches
  • A huge range of classes, included within the membership price
  • Certified PTs available to support clients and a free initial exercise induction
  • Free parking*
The brand-new gym will be a fantastic addition to Salford and the wider Manchester area, offering a first-class, high-quality workout space for members and includes a dedicated Women’s Workout Space – a private area alongside the main gym with free weights, squat racks and fixed resistant machines, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for female members who might feel more comfortable and confident working out in an alternative space.
The new gym will help to drive footfall to the waterfront destination. All PureGym Manchester Exchange Quay colleagues have been offered redeployment at PureGym Salford Quays. For more information on PureGym Salford Quays, please visit the website.
