Police in Salford are asking for the public’s help to locate an offender who is wanted in connection with a serious assault that left a man with severe injuries.
Max Capps aged 31 of no fixed abode is wanted in connection with the assault which happened on Tuesday 5 December 2023 shortly after midnight in Weaste.
It was believed the victim was approached from behind and struck twice in the head with a weapon causing him to fall before slashing him with a knife.
The victim suffered a bleed on the brain, a fractured skull, and two facial wounds, requiring urgent medical treatment. He continues to recover from his injuries.
Since the offence, detectives have carried out extensive and wide‑ranging enquiries which have not yet been successful. He is now believed to be abroad and has remained outstanding for over two years.
Officers are now appealing directly to the public to help find Capps.
