Manchester’s Embankment Kitchen, located on the ground floor of luxury aparthotel CitySuites, is launching a new bar and grill menu on Wednesday 22nd February.

The new menu at Embankment Kitchen, just off Deansgate and across from Manchester Cathedral and Exchange Square, features a range of new dishes packed with flavour.

“With this new menu, we’ve focused on mixing ingredients from around the world and enhancing the flavour, rather than fancy plating and unnecessary purees,” says Head Chef Josh Singleton.

New dishes on the menu include a half roast chicken which has become an instant favourite of the whole kitchen team. “It’s really colourful, it looks good, and it’s really tasty,” Josh explains. “The base of it is garlic, rosemary, thyme, lemon juice, lime juice, and white wine, while the chicken itself is coated in a mixture of dry spices to give it an extra punch of flavour.”

Other classics which have been revamped with EK’s signature flair are a range of steaks, burgers, pies, and pizzas. Using great quality ingredients, every dish is made from scratch in the kitchen and carefully seasoned.

“The pies, for example, there’s nothing too fancy about them – they’re just great pies,” said Josh. “There’s no skipping in the process of making them, it’s very classic. We braise the meat, add lots of herbs and seasoning, and the result is very rich and tasty pies.”

The new EK menu also features lighter dishes in time for spring, including a salmon and king prawn linguini; sea trout with crushed new potatoes, and a tomato and burrata bruschetta.

The chef team will also be introducing weekly specials to show off their culinary flair.

“We plan to bring in some of the finer elements through our weekly specials,” Josh said. “I want the chefs to get creative, so we’ll be focusing more on the technical ability in the kitchen through bringing in exciting and fun ingredients.”

The dessert menu has also been refreshed. The EK classic sticky toffee pudding comes with butterscotch sauce, while the elderflower and lemon poached pear is served with honeycomb, lemon sorbet and vanilla cream.

Embankment Kitchen’s new bar and grill menu launches on Wednesday 22nd February. The kitchen will be open Wednesday through to Saturday, with food served from 5pm.
