Maki & Ramen NQ, the much-loved Japanese restaurant nestled in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter, has announced that from Friday 3rd April 2026, customers will have the opportunity to receive their meal completely on the house.
Inspired by the ramen-yas of Japan, Maki & Ramen has built its reputation on handcrafted noodles, rich broths slow-simmered for eight hours, and a menu that celebrates the depth and diversity of Japanese cuisine. From signature ramen and freshly made sushi to a full range of halal, vegan, and vegetarian options, it is a restaurant where heritage and hospitality go hand in hand, and that philosophy is now being taken one step further with their new Omotenashi incentive.
Omotenashi (おもてなし) is often simply translated as “hospitality,” but it goes much deeper than that. Rooted in Japanese culture for centuries, it is the art of anticipating a guest’s needs before they are expressed – and giving wholeheartedly, with no expectation of anything in return. And now, Maki & Ramen are bringing that same spirit to the streets of Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
Between 3rd and 30th April, every diner at the Northern Quarter restaurant will receive an exclusive Maki & Ramen scratchcard. Reveal a winner, and the whole bill will be on the house. No catches, no conditions. Just a spontaneous act of generosity.

March marks a jam packed month for the brand, with Maki & Ramen launching its new Protein Ramen and XOXO Drinks menus later this month, and for those who can’t get enough at the restaurant, the brand’s Frozen Ramen range is already available to order online at shop.makiramen.com, bringing that same handcrafted goodness straight to fans’ doors.
