Legoland Discovery Centre in Manchester are celebrating International Dog Day on Wednesday 26th August by offering one lucky dog owner the chance to win a custom Lego sculpture of their four-legged friend.

Anyone who is crazy about their canine can simply head to the Facebook page for either site and comment on the competition post with a photo of their furry friend, a fun fact about them, their name and their age.

The winner will be drawn at random and the Master Model Builders (professional, full-time, Lego artists) at both the Birmingham and Manchester sites will get to work building a Lego-brick version of the dog for the winner to collect and take home.

Regardless of whether the winner is a tiny terrier or a big St Bernard, the sculpture is likely to require a minimum of 5,000 bricks and will take at least 50 hours to construct.

A spokesperson at Legoland Discovery Centre, said: “As a dog lover myself, I’m super excited about this competition and to celebrate International Dog Day in true brick-tastic style. We pride ourselves on creating amazing artwork and I’m sure that the prize-winning pooch will make for an amazing subject when it comes to sculpting a four Lego-ed friend.”

To enter the Lego Dog Competition, visit the Birmingham or Manchester Legoland Discovery Centre Facebook pages before 11.59pm on Wednesday 26th August 2020.

Both Birmingham and Manchester Legoland Discovery Centres reopened in July with a brand-new play session format. The centres are open seven days a week and run two daily play sessions, one from 10am-12pm and another from 1.30pm-3.30pm with entry from 9.30am and 1pm respectively. Guests need to book online to attend either session and each centre is entirely cleaned before and after each event.
