Mr Su is set to take Manchester by storm, bringing traditional Chinese dumplings and noodles to Circle Square on Oxford Road, when it opens its doors on 15 May.

Founded by the eponymous Jimmy Su, who has over 25 years’ experience working in top restaurants in Dubai, China and in the UK, Mr Su promises high-quality and unique noodles prepared in-house. Jimmy’s vast experience in the kitchen has allowed him to create unique and secret recipes for broths, noodles and dumplings.

The new restaurant will feature a pick-your-own toppings station where customers can help themselves to a range of traditional and more localised toppings from vegetables to protein such as chicken, prawns and beef. They simply take their chosen toppings to the counter and they’ll be added to a hearty bowl of noodles.

The menu at Mr Su is extensive with multiple variations of what it does best, noodles and dumplings all at reasonable prices.

Speciality dumplings are made-on-site and filled with a variety of ingredients like lamb and Chinese leaves, with six priced at just £3.90, £7.50 for 12, and if you’re feeling particularly hungry, 18 (£10.90) and 24 (£13.90)  to share with friends or simply devour by yourself – we won’t judge.

All noodles come with a choice of broths; normal, tomato, seafood, spicy or pickled. Dishes include chicken and duck street noodles for £9.90, or if you want something a little less meat heavy, mixed veg noodles will cost £8.60.

Jimmy Su, co-owner of Mr Su said: “We can’t wait to officially open the doors to Mr Su Manchester to show the city our specialty noodles and dumplings, that have been 25 years in the making. We’re all about great tasting, good-quality homemade noodles and dumplings accessible to everyone which is reflected in our price – traditional Chinese food isn’t meant to break the bank, and we’re incredibly excited to open in Manchester building upon the success of our Leeds store.”

Mr Su opened its first store in Leeds in 2019, situated on Blenheim Terrace, the restaurant has gone from strength-to-strength cemented Mr Su’s as the go-to place for noodles and dumplings in the city.

Mr Su is set to open on the ground floor of the Vita Student Medlock Building at Circle Square from Monday 15 May.
