Electric Playbox, the immersive group entertainment platform, has opened its doors for the first time in the Arndale Centre, Manchester.

The latest addition to the city’s booming experience scene, Electric Playbox is a first of its kind experience, featuring four Adventures lasting 60 minutes. Taking place within a state of the art “Playbox”, the room uses projection mapping, touch screens and motion-tracking technology to deliver a mind-blowing team adventure.

The Manchester venue is the first Electric Playbox to open outside of London. The unique concept is the brainchild of Tough Mudder founder Will Dean. Swapping mud for motion-sensors, Electric Playbox is on a mission to bring people together through shared screenplay.

Electric Playbox promises to inject some epic competitive fun into your household bubble with up to six players inside each Playbox working together to complete a series of mini-adventures and challenges. Electric Playbox’s incredible technology requires players to wear simple visors which are each equipped with a small sensor that tracks movements and gestures.

Adventures include throwing players back to 1984 to outwit an alien race taking over the globe, or a trip to the future to rescue a royal family in need, the vast array of family-friendly games create a fun, positive and safe experience for all ages.

“Our first venue has been a massive hit with Londoners, and Manchester was always going to be the next place to launch the Electric Playbox concept. The city has a thriving entertainment scene and we’re so excited to welcome families, couples, and friends to tackle our Adventures.”
