Haunt, which has become a popular spot for coffee lovers and wine drinkers on Peter Street, is bulking up its evening offering with a new Italian-inspired menu. Launching this week, the all-new menu will be available every Wednesday to Saturday, 4-9pm.

The star of the show is the Sfincione – the original Sicilian pizza slice. Haunt will be the very first venue to introduce Sfincione to Manchester. The authentic dough is made using Wildfarmed’s sustainable flour, before being cold-proved for 24hrs and then baked to light, spongey perfection.

Mancunian pizza lovers can grab a slice of the action with 50% off sfincione slices for the rest of February.

Complementing the traditional Italian focaccia slice is an array of all new antipasti, perfect to enjoy with a pint or paired with Haunt’s discerning Italian wine selection.

The new menu has been created in collaboration with local chef, Sam Astley-Dean. He said: “Our focus is, and always has been, on using excellent, high-quality ingredients from the very best suppliers to create delicious, simple food done right. Haunt is an awesome spot with an exciting vibe and ethos that is right up my street. I’m absolutely buzzing for people to try what we’ve been working on.”

Haunt’s General Manager, Antonio Nadin, said: “I always make time to visit the Sfinciunaro (person who sells fresh Sfincione from the back of a Vespa) when I’m visiting my family in Sicily. We love to snack on Sfincione anytime of day, even for breakfast!

“Having known of Sam’s prowess for some time, we were very excited to collaborate with him on this project. With my experience and his expertise, we have been able to create a modern Sfincione menu which is still in touch with its Sicilian heritage.”
