Greater Manchester’s annual family-friendly, accessible Join Together Festival is back on Schools Hill, Cheadle, this Saturday 4 July!

This year’s jam-packed activities include face painting with The Clever Creations, a fun fair and inflatables by OMC Inflatables, trains play area by Trainmaster Cheshire, sensory play area and soap bubbles by My Sen Den, aerial performances and trial sessions with Blush Kids, axe throwing, bushcraft, archery with Wolfpack Adventures CIC, and for the first time, a video gaming marquee by Adaptive Gaming CIC.

Children and families can also meet and learn more about the therapy animals from Inspiring Animal Therapy, enjoy story time and crafts with author Heather Mckenna, hang out with the friendly neighbourhood Spider-man, win prizes in a festival-wide scavenger hunt, and listen to live music from local performers throughout the day.

Food trucks and stalls will be selling waffles and burgers, coffee and cake from Cal Coffee, breakfast butties, sausage rolls and savoury bakes from Nellie’s Kitchen, Neapolitan pizza by Rocco Pizza, coffee and sweet treats from Gin Tin, freshly made curries and samosas from Mrs Khan, and much more.

At the festival’s ‘market place’, local vendors will be offering a variety of artisan goods, delicious cakes, crafts, and activities. A picnic area is available for attendees to bring their own food, blankets, camping chairs, board games and snacks to enjoy the festival from the comfort of their own set up.

A uniquely accessible festival, the day has been designed to ensure anyone can enjoy the event alongside their friends, family and community. Doors open at 10am, starting with a quiet hour before opening to the public at 11am and ending at 4pm. Additional accessibility details are available on the website, including changing facilities, free headsets, and a prayer room.

Run by local charity Together Trust, all proceeds raised from the festival will go directly to supporting their life changing services across Greater Manchester.

Last year’s festival saw around 2500 people come through the Together Trust’s gates and this year’s event is expected to be just as popular.

Lucy Sawdon, Head of Fundraising at the Together Trust, said:

“Join Together is Stockport’s best accessible festival and a much-loved part of the community, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome the event for another year that promises to be even bigger and better than ever.

It’s such a fantastic opportunity for the whole community to come together – both returning and new faces – to enjoy a wide range of activities, entertainment, and food while supporting a local charity and local businesses.”
