A third attempt to form an administration for Oldham Council has failed
The meeting to elect was adjourned with deadlock between Reform UK, Labour and the Alliance
A vote for a new leader of the council with three separate candidates failing to mass the magic number of votes
Labour leader Arooj Shah received 20 votes but had 33 against
Reform UK’s bid for the leadership was also defeated as was an attempt by Oldham Group’s leader which was backed by the Lib Dem’s and the Tories
Five different candidates for Deputy Mayor failed to reach the 31 required votes
Councillors voted to adjourn the meeting with the next attempt scheduled for the 15th July
