Police proactively patrolling in the North Manchester area seized eight different bikes from a shed – in addition to a bag of drugs – after tracing a suspect to an address.
At around 4pm yesterday officers from our Operation Venture team and other specialist resources tracked a suspicious moped to an address in the Openshaw area using our drone unit.
Officers made their way to the address, detaining several individuals, and began a search of the property.
Located in the shed were four motorbikes, a Surron, and three off-road style bikes. There was additionally a suspected stolen quad bike in the front garden.
All have been recovered on suspicion of being stolen and work will take place with a view to returning them to their rightful owners where possible.

As officers continued their search, a duffel bag was discovered, containing significant quantities of suspected Class A drugs – including heroin and cocaine. Further searches of the property revealed ammunition for a handgun, and a knuckle duster.
As part of the work, five Pitbull / XL Bully type dogs at the property were seized for further assessment.
Three men and a woman, aged between 19 and 45, were arrested on suspicion of offences including possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of offensive weapons, and handling stolen goods. They remain in custody for questioning.
Inspector Joe Barron, from GMP’s Operation Venture team, said:“This was an excellent joint-operation by several different teams, resulting in seven vehicles being seized and thousands of pounds worth of drugs being recovered.
“Our officers are always looking to proactively tackle issues across the Manchester area, and this is a case which has produced significant results thanks to that hard work.
“I would urge anyone with any information about drug supply in their area – or likewise any suspicions regarding stolen bikes or similar – to please get in touch with us.”
