The Amazon team at the fulfilment centre near Manchester Airport has donated £1,000 to a charity that supports the Greater Manchester community.

Forever Manchester raises money to fund and encourage community activity across Greater Manchester. The charity works closely with neighbourhoods to support and create projects that bring people together.

Projects include supporting foodbanks, mental health support groups, homelessness projects and domestic violence support groups.

This donation will help fund grassroot community projects in the Wythenshawe area.

“Forever Manchester puts our community at the centre of what it does and has funded some amazing projects over the years. At Amazon, we are extremely passionate about supporting the community and we are pleased to make this donation.”

(Imani Change, Site Leader at Amazon in Manchester)

“On behalf of the team here at Forever Manchester, I’d like to thank Amazon for this donation. We rely on funding from people and businesses so we appreciate this contribution – it will help fund even more activities in our community.”

(Jean Mills, Head of Business at Forever Manchester)

The donation forms part of the “Amazon In The Community” programme, whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.

Community donations are one of a number of ways in which Amazon is supporting communities across the UK during COVID-19.

Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering over 2 million healthy breakfasts to families around the UK.
