Foodwell – nestled in the heart of Manchester’s newest neighbourhood, New Bailey – has announced it is to launch a new late-night concept to meet increasing customer demand.

Firefly will build on the success of the LA-inspired food and wellness destination and will offer its clientele a taste of a night out allowing customers to enjoy ‘a balanced lifestyle’.

Announcing itself as ‘Cali inspired, locally sourced’, the late-night dining menu will be made up of ‘Californian tapas’ – small plates from around the world which will pay homage to the state’s richly diverse culture.

The drinks menu will mirror this source of inspiration, featuring cocktails such as ‘City of Angels’ and ‘Cali Cali’; Kombucha-infused drinks; a West Coast wine cellar; and an extensive tequila selection.

Christian Coates at Firefly said: “We’re so excited to introduce Manchester to Firefly. The terrace has proved incredibly popular, and we’ve had constant demand from our customers to offer a late-night experience building upon the wellness aspect of Foodwell during the day.

“As New Bailey continues to evolve, adding Firefly will perfectly complement our neighbours as we look to make the space more accessible and enchanting by night.

“The name was borne from the vibe we feel the venue will now offer – relaxed and unassuming by day, but as darkness falls, transforming into something illuminating and remarkable by night.

“We want to offer a balanced approach to wellness, and to encourage people to nourish their bodies and souls during the day – but to feel free and let their hair down at night.”

“The new concept means that we can now offer coffee, cocktails and all-day dining from sunrise to sunset”, added Ashley Williams.

The venue will roll out Firefly from 11th October where the space will cosmetically transform the current eatery at 6pm every night with focus to be much more music led with a raised DJ booth and the introduction of bottle and table service.

Foodwell was launched in February 2019, and has since become a firm favourite in Manchester.

It comprises a 130-cover restaurant, a heated terrace, and a yoga studio – which features a double-height projector screen which can enable guests to practice immersive beachside yoga. It also boasts custom Foodwell x Lululemon yoga mats which are provided for classes, and the entire space can be turned into a boardroom or private dining room on request.
