Hatch, Manchester’s award-winning food, drink and retail destination, is officially getting into the holiday spirit with a whole ho-ho-host of Christmas themed offerings and events.
This year, Hatch will transport customers back to a different era when iPhones and ‘furlough’ were yet to enter our mainstream vocabulary, with an 80s themed Christmas transformation on the cards. Guests can expect a healthy dose of neon and nostalgia with a retro mix of fluorescent lights and disco baubles alongside the traditional Christmas trees and candy canes – double denim dress code optional!
Festive Events
The Hatch stage will host a whole festive season of entertainment from Christmas Carols and brass bands to an 80s Disco. A full roster of events will be announced soon.
As Christmas parties are set to be back in full swing this year, it’s time to get planning those holiday celebrations. Hatch offers the ideal venue for those looking for a unique take on the festive get together, providing a chilled out setting and cool spaces to suit events of all shapes and sizes.
The terraces, courtyard and parasol area are just some of the bookable spaces on offer at the venue plus, there’s the option of on-site catering from any one of Hatch’s independent traders meaning brilliant food and drink options as well as a sensational setting.
Tis the season to eat….
This year at Hatch there will be lots of new traders’ festive specials available from November to the New Year. From German Bratwursts at Grandad’s Sausages to festive desserts from Biscuit & Brew and Oh My Cheesecake, there’s something to suit everyone this season.
Northern duo, Parmageddon, will be serving up their epic buttermilk chicken Parmo alongside everybody’s favourite xmas dinner trimmings: Pigs in Blankets and deep fried stuffing. They’ll also be putting their own spin on the quintessentially British christmas butty: with bacon, melted brie and cranberry sauce loaded onto their classic parmo on a toasted brioche with rocket and house pickled spicy slaw.
Herbivorous are also joining in on all the festive fun, having created plant-based alternatives to Christmas classics that are certain to cause some serious vegan food envy. Included is a sage & onion seitan roast served in a brioche bun with braised cabbage, cranberry & red onion gravy, and all the trimmings. A ‘turkey’ & stuffing burger, served with stuffing seasoned fries, are also on offer.
Sicilian street food supremos T’arricrii will put their own stamp on Christmas with a whole host of specialty arancinos with authentic Sicilian fillings like bolognese sauce or ham and cheese plus sweet and savoury ricotta cannoli.
… And be Merry
The booze side of things is covered too with an excellent range of festive drinks on the menu. Craft beer bar ÖL will be supplying a number of Christmas themed beers, and there will be mulled wine and hot cider a-plenty from the on-site bars to help with getting into the Christmas cheer.
There’s a brand new Christmas cocktail menu at the on site Hatch bars – Hatch Tavern, 12Ten, and Miami Ice. As Christmas bubbles are a must during the festive period, customers can head over to Hatch Tavern where they will be serving a Kir Royale, using fellow Hatch resident O’Donnell’s wild berry moonshine with floating prosecco on top. Plus there’s a new Elderflower Fizz, which mixes St Germain elderflower liqueur and prosecco. 12ten will be recreating classic cocktails with a christmassy twist, including a Christmas Manhattan and Clementine Cosmopolitan. For those who fancy a sweet treat, Miami Ice have created a special selection of festive espresso martinis including Black Forest, Gingerbread, Terry’s Chocolate Orange, and Biscoff.
Retail Therapy
Fancy some retail therapy without the hectic holiday hustle and bustle? Hatch also offers all the benefits of a Christmas shopping experience in a relaxed environment. With some amazing independent retail traders on-site, shoppers will have no trouble in finding that perfectly unique gift this Christmas. Browse through everything from vintage finds at Suzy Loves Milo, vinyl records at 12Ten, handmade liqueurs from O’Donnells Moonshine, sustainable and handmade jewellery from Shy Seagull, and even comic books from Volume One Comics.

Everyone deserves a bit of festive pampering and at Hatch there’s a range of talented independent beauty traders to get you party-season ready, including the fabulous inclusive nail art specialists It’s A Nail Thing; independent, creative hair salon Industry; male grooming by Portland Barbers; and fabulous eyelash extensions and lash lift/tints by Butterfly Effect lash & brow bar.
