The fourth and final series of Channel 4’s Fresh Meat starts filming this week at The Sharp Project, which has been its home since the first series.

Created by Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong and produced by Rhonda Smith for Objective Productions, the new series will feature the characters as their final year of university life draws to a close.

Starring Jack Whitehall, Zawe Ashton, Charlotte Ritchie, Greg McHugh, Kimberley Nixon and Joe Thomas, the students face the prospect of the real world and final exams while struggling with jobs, debt and relationships.

Since it debuted in 2011, Fresh Meat has picked up a number of awards, including an RTS, British Comedy and South Bank Sky Arts Award.

Sue Woodward, Founder of The Sharp Project said: “This final series will mark the end of an era for us too as we focus TV drama production at The Space Project, our new purpose-built facility in West Gorton. Fresh Meat has played an important part in our journey and we will always remember it for that.”

Judy Counihan, Objective Productions’ Head of Drama and Film said: “It’s been a pleasure to work with, and at The Sharp Project over the course of Fresh Meat. The facilities are great and the team have been fantastic, supportive and flexible. We have felt very at home there and are so pleased that we got to start and end our university days with them.”
