Merseyway is guaranteeing a magical experience for families this Christmas, with a whole host of free family-friendly activities taking place at the centre.

From November 2021 onwards, the shopping destination will come to life with a gigantic
interactive post box, beautiful light shows, live performers, festive huts and a weekly naughty and nice list broadcast from the North Pole onto the centre’s giant screens.

Event highlights to get visitors into the Christmas spirit include:

Merseyway’s Giant Interactive Post Box and Naughty & Nice List

Don’t miss Merseyway’s GIGANTIC interactive post box! Reaching 6m in height (that’s
bigger than a double decker bus!), the Giant Post Box will be open until 22 nd December
2021. Each child who posts their letter to Father Christmas will have a magical, interactive
experience as they watch their letter be transported to the North Pole.

They can then take a card and return to the centre on the dedicated day to check if they’ve made Father Christmas’s naughty or nice list, which will be broadcast from the North Pole onto the giant screen every Saturday from 27th November – 23rd December.

Enchanting Light Shows

Bringing an enchanting experience to Stockport, visitors can add a little sparkle to their
Christmas celebrations at Merseyway’s festive light shows! The series of mini light shows
will take place every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening on the run-up to Christmas.

Each show will take place at 4.30pm on:

  • 2nd, 3rd & 4th December 2021
  • 9th, 10th & 11th December 2021
  • 16th , 17th & 18th December 2021
  • Thursday 23rd December 2021

The light shows have been funded through the Government’s Welcome Back Fund, supported by the European Regional Development Fund.

Merseyway’s Giving Tree

Returning for a third year running, Merseyway’s popular Giving Tree will return once more to the centre, ensuring thousands of Stockport’s most in need children receive a gift for
Christmas this year.

Located in the undercover mall outside Specsavers, shoppers can select a tag from the
Giving Tree and purchase a gift for a less fortunate child. Each tag is bespoke to each child
with their age and the things they like, meaning they will receive something they have asked for on their Christmas list.

The Giving Tree will be open from 15th November – 14th December 2021 and all participants can drop their gift donations at the dedicated donation station in the same location or at the Merseyway management suite.

Festive Huts

Families can shop a fantastic range of festive gifts and treats from Merseyway’s Festive
Huts Open until the end of December 2021; visitors can enjoy delicious delights from
Yorkshire Pudding wraps to German sausages.
