Oldham Coliseum Theatre have created a new kind of panto magic for 2020. Panto Digital Storytelling will be available online between Saturday 12 December and Saturday 2 January.
Although we’re all missing the spectacle of the Coliseum panto this year, the theatre has created a digital offer that gives audiences the opportunity to invite Dame Dotty Trott and Cinderella into their homes for unique tellings of their famous tales.
Straight off the Coliseum stage these much-loved panto characters tell their stories as you’ve never heard them before – from their own perspective. Audiences will be able to choose between Jack and the Beanstalk with Dame Dotty Trott or Cinderella with Cinderella herself, with access to the online video for a whole day.
Audiences can expect a few new twists in these famous tales. Does Dame Dotty Trott really think she’s the true Giant Slayer? Find out how tough Cinderella really had it when she reveals all the Ugly Sisters’ secrets…
Panto Digital Storytelling: Jack and the Beanstalk and Panto Digital Storytelling: Cinderella star Coliseum pantomime favourite actors Richard J Fletcher and Shorelle Hepkin. The pre-recorded videos are directed by Rachel McMurray and filmed and edited by the Coliseum’s Digital Associate Grant Archer.
Each ticket for Panto Digital Storytelling: Cinderella or Panto Digital Storytelling: Jack and the Beanstalk gives audiences one day’s video access. Much like the Fairy Godmother’s magic, access will expire each day at midnight.
Tickets for Panto Digital Storytelling are on sale from Saturday 12 December. Tickets cost £10 for one day’s access.
