Exciting news for anyone struggling to get on Manchester’s property ladder! The Government’s Help to Buy initiative is making its debut at MeadowSide, the popular residential scheme in Manchester city centre.

This will enable buyers for the development’s latest phase, Mount Yard, to secure a home with just a 5 percent deposit. To find out more about Help to Buy and Mount Yard, developer Far East Consortium (FEC) is inviting interested buyers to a celebratory Help to Buy event on Saturday, 14 September.

Taking place at MeadowSide’s marketing suite on Irk Street, M4 4JT from 10am to 4pm, visitors can explore the site’s exciting plans, whilst the friendly FEC team will be onsite to answer any questions about the apartments. The event will also be joined by a number of property experts such as solicitors and mortgage advisors, who will offer further advice on the day. The first 10 people to reserve their Mount Yard residence through Help to Buy will receive a complimentary one-year all-zone Metrolink pass.

Andrew Bradley-Nixon, Senior Sales & Marketing Manager at FEC comments: “We want as many people as possible to have the chance to own a beautiful city centre home in what will be a thriving community at MeadowSide overlooking Angel Meadow, Manchester’s largest green space. That’s why we’re making all our 136 apartments and townhouses at Mount Yard eligible for Help to Buy and plan to offer the option on our entire MeadowSide scheme as we provide a total of 756 unique homes in four landmark residential developments over the next few years.”

To add to the event programme and to make it a fun-filled day for the whole family, the Help to Buy event is complemented by BITE, a monthly street food market onsite the MeadowSide marketing suite, featuring a different theme each month.  This month, it’s BITE + BIKE, which means guests can enjoy a varied menu of delicious treats whilst bicycle repair shop POPUP Bikes will be holding free cycle workshops. The BITE events are the perfect example for MeadowSide’s  future community feel and give a sneak peek into the development’s extensive lifestyle aspects.

Mount Yard is MeadowSide’s second phase and due for completion in late summer 2020, adding a choice of 136 stylish one, two- and three-bedroom apartments as well as townhouses. Prices start from £209,950. The £200m MeadowSide development spearheads the Northern Gateway, an investment partnership between FEC and Manchester City Council. Northern Gateway is to deliver over 15,000 new homes across the north side of central Manchester over the next decade.

Overlooking Angel Meadow Park, residents at will benefit from city centre living against a leafy backdrop in the only park-side location in central Manchester. The site will feature an array of amenities for residents including a 24-hour concierge, gym, parking, private dining, ground floor commercial units and a communal terrace. The landscaped external areas feature recycled concrete and timber, new walkways, masses of new planting, a lighting scheme and landform terraces to rest and enjoy the great views of the park.

To reflect the area’s Victorian and industrial history, Mount Yard will feature traditional brick to complement surrounding mills and factory conversions. Internally the residences are spacious and light, which is emphasised by floor to ceiling windows. Many homes enjoy park views, whilst all buyers benefit from designer kitchens complete with the latest mod cons, contemporary bathrooms and high specification throughout.
