From the installation of a luminous, music-playing heart on Hardman Square to the return of an unmissable neon display, Spinningfields is set to be Manchester’s most romantic destination this February.

If you are looking to experience a Valentine’s Day like no other, look no further than Spinningfields, who will be wowing passersby with a collection of dazzling art displays throughout the month, with the centrepiece being the monumental, six-metre, inflatable heart ‘With Love’, by French artist Franck Pelletier, which will illuminate Hardman Square from 12-16 February.

Previously seen in destinations such as Singapore and France, ‘With Love’ takes the pulse of a city by sensing the light, temperature, and atmospheric pressure, which is then converted into flashing lights to represent the ‘beat’.

In front of the installation, couples, friends and families can push a button to hear their hearts through music, with a special song selected from hundreds to play just for them, based on their unique heart rate.

This will be accompanied by the iconic Heart of Manchester, which will be back to pulse vibrant colours from the Quay Street façade of No1. Spinningfields from 10-16 February. Best seen from Deansgate-Castlefield Metrolink station, this eye-catching light installation returns after huge popularity in 2019, where it dazzled passersby.

Plus, do not miss Spinningfields’ special Instagram competition, taking place from 5-12 February, for your chance to win the perfect evening for two, complete with a stunning view over the city. One lucky pair will secure dinner for two at 20 Stories, accompanied by a beautiful bouquet by David Wayman Flowers, a £50 Spinningfields gift card, and a box of cupcakes from Hey Little Cupcake!
