Bruco, the neighbourhood Italian bar & restaurant nestled in the heart of Manchester’s Ancoats, has launched its new Summer menu.
Bringing a fresh spin to Italian dining, Bruco’s new summer menu seamlessly blends comfort with contemporary flair, championing authentic flavours inspired by the laid-back warmth and sociable spirit of an Italian summer. Perfect for long brunches on the sunny terrace, evenings with loved ones, and everything in between.

Kicking things off, an array of Mediterranean classics. Nocarella olives with garlic, lemon and rosemary, friggitelli peppers with sea salt, and calamari fritti with a lemon garlic dip set the tone, while the beautifully fresh antipasta meat board – layered with prosciutto, capicola, spinanata and mortadella – is perfect for grazing and sharing.
For a lighter option, Bruco’s new heritage tomato salad with red onion and basil offers a fresh burst of flavour, while the charred baby gem with anchovy and pangrattato adds a savoury, seasonal twist to the sharing selection.
For something more, diners can dive into “A Little Bigger…” – a section dedicated to comforting mains made for long summer evenings. Dishes include the favourite slow-cooked beef short rib lasagne, gnocchi with heritage tomato and mascarpone, and the orecchiette pasta with fennel sausage and friarielli – bringing together rich, comforting flavours with vibrant freshness.
Seafood lovers are covered too, with chargrilled swordfish with a courgette and caper cream, and garlic, chilli and lemon grilled prawns, both gluten-free. The aged ribeye steak, served with a rich red wine and salsa verde jus, rounds out the mains with serious flair.
And of course, it wouldn’t be an Italian summer without dessert. Bruco’s Dolce menu features indulgent treats like amarena cherry and pistachio eton mess, Sicilian lemon tart with vanilla mascarpone, and their much-loved light and fluffy Tiramisu.
Founder, Ethan Harvey, said: “This menu is all about embracing the warmth and vibrancy of Italian summer cooking. Whether you’re here for drinks and nibbles or a full evening of food with friends, we’ve got something that feels fresh, exciting, and rooted in tradition. We’re proud of every plate.”
As always, Bruco’s terrace will be open throughout the season – ideal for lazy lunches and spritzes at golden hour.
