Fitness initiative Our Parks has brought a new bootcamp class to Manchester as part of a national rollout of free exercise sessions.

The group exercise classes run every Saturday at 11am and are held in Alexandra Park. Our Parks sessions, founded by Born Barikor and supported by Lucozade Sport, take place in local parks and offer free fitness classes to locals. Over 100,000 people now taking part in weekly sessions and the national roll out plans to benefit 250,000 people by 2020.

Born, a Lucozade Sport ambassador who was recently honoured in the brand’s inaugural Movers List, launched the free sessions to activate outdoor spaces and parks to help people become more active – tying in with Lucozade Sport’s Made to Move mantra.

Our Parks currently deliver sessions in 153 parks, but the Manchester launch marks the start of a nationwide roll out, with sessions in Bristol, Newcastle, Liverpool and Nottingham also in the pipeline.

Born Barikor, CEO, Our Parks said:

“I am so pleased with what Our Parks has achieved over the past 5 years and I’m looking forward to bringing the Our Parks experience to the major cities across the UK, encouraging people across the nation to get fit in their local communities.”

Matt Riches, Head of Partnerships, Lucozade Sport said:

“Our Parks is amazing, free group fitness classes run by fantastic coaches with a focus on teamwork and fun. We’ve been a longstanding partner and we’re really excited to be working together to help take Our Parks nationwide.”
