Bolton-based Handrail Creations, the UK’s leading handrails and balustrades specialist, has reported a 20% year-on-year increase in orders since opening its new factory doors in June 2025 – with a series of prestigious jobs on the horizon.
Following Handrail Creations’ factory expansion in summer last year, where over £500,000 was invested to refurbish the entire building – including a new roof, substation, re-wiring the entire factory, knocking walls through, and installing new kitchens and bathrooms – the company has facilitated additional and more complex projects.
Q3 2025 saw the company’s highest sales quarter since inception, taking on 130 new projects totalling over £1million – a 20% increase from the previous year – with a series of new prestigious commercial project wins across leisure, retail, hospitality, and wellbeing sectors.
Among the upcoming projects is work at the Mere Golf Resort & Spa, where Handrail Creations will supply and install an American Black Walnut timber handrail to accompany other suppliers’ steel stairs. The timber handrail will feature a clear lacquer finish and will consist of approximately 34 parts.
In the retail sector, Handrail Creations has secured a contract with the prestigious Ralph Lauren in Sloane Square, Chelsea, London. For this flagship store, Handrail Creations is tasked with manufacturing the European Oak timber handrail, with approximately 17 parts.
Mykonos-born, esteemed restaurant, Nammos, is coming to the heart of Mayfair, London, and Handrail Creations will supply and install an ash timber handrail with circa 44 components, contributing to the refined interiors expected of this high-profile venue.
Wellbeing has become an integral part of our culture in 2026, and completing the list of standout upcoming projects is supplying and installing 71 European Oak timber handrail components, supporting the creation of a cutting edge flagship wellness studio, The Method.
Kenny Macfarlane, Managing Director, weighs in on the soaring growth following the factory expansion, looking ahead at the series of prestigious projects upcoming: “With the factory expansion, I wanted to create a space that was functional, comfortable for our staff and has room for us to continue to grow, it’s amazing to see how it has come together. We’re grateful to have such a great team behind us, and we’re looking forward to all the exciting upcoming projects in 2026 where we can showcase our skills and commitment to excellent service.”
