Urmston bar-restaurant teased their new menu with new head chef formerly of George’s in Worsley.

Guests were treated to a platter of new and interesting dishes from the menu and a selection of creative drinks to pick from.

With a wide range of cocktails available we tasted the ‘Pink to Make the Boys Wink’ which we were informed is more popular with the male guests at the Urmston bar-restaurant than the intended female customers.

A gin-based cocktail which is topped with a generous helping of candy floss which over time dissolved into the refreshing drink to give it an added sugary boost.

The platter was filled with plenty of treats.

A lovely lightly battered piece of cod with mushy peas was a nice touch of traditional British cuisine. A cheese and ale melt in breadcrumbs with a fruity chutney was nicely balanced.

Then came the dishes influenced by Asia. A soft bao bun with succulent beef short rib with a mix of sharp accompaniments was delicious and a pork dumpling with sweet chilli sauce was a treat.

The stand out component of the platter was the Korean fried chicken. There was heat but it was not too spicy, packed with flavour and lovely chicken breast. Fantastic.

The new menu will be available from Monday 10th February.
