Earlier this year, York St John University embarked on a large-scale and ambitious rebranding project to modernise and refresh how they communicate with key audiences. The rebrand coincided with the launch of a new strategy that set out a transformational path for reach, impact and influence over the next 8-10 years.
As a cornerstone of this implementation, they required a new front-end website that would embody the new values, and showcase their research and course portfolio in an engaging and user-focussed way.
As specialists in the Education sector, Absolute were appointed via tender to lead on the creative direction of the website, develop
high quality designs and implement a front-end system that supported the University’s key project aims.
Chris Hodgen, MD of Absolute, explains:
“We have worked extensively with Universities across the UK on brand development and engagement, and to help future-proof their digital strategies. This knowledge and experience means our team has an implicit understanding of the complexities of their communication needs, and enables us to come up with ideas that work. We were delighted to partner with York St John on this project, they are truly dedicated to standing out, and building an offer that is unique.”
Having worked with the York St John team to develop the proposition “Make The Possible Happen”, Absolute were able to capture the future-thinking of the University using stand-out creative styles, and combine these with seamless front-end experiences.
“The website is our most important communications and student recruitment tool, with more than 1 million page views each year. It serves a broad range of national and international users, staff, regulatory bodies, research partners and the local community.
By working with Absolute to develop a unique, creative and visually-stunning new front-end design we have been able to reposition the University in the market, stand out from our competitors, connect with our target audiences and improve our key conversion goals.” said Dominic Billington, Digital Developments Manager, York St. John University
