Sea Life Manchester is awash in Halloween spirit as the attraction is transformed into the North West’s very own Ascarium.

The popular family attraction is set to host a range of frightfully exciting events throughout October, including the arrival of the attraction’s creepiest residents to date.

Getting children in the Halloween spirit early, Sea Life Manchester is inviting the brave to explore the ocean depths and discover the spooky creatures lurking beneath the surface. Those visiting the attraction between October 12th and November 3rd will be challenged to help the resident Sea Witch protect all the attraction’s creatures from the terrible curse, collecting all the magical ingredients needed for the only spell that can help save the aquarium.

On Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th October, visitors will be treated to spell-binding performances from the attraction’s very own mystical residents, swimming alongside a host of creatures in the huge 480,000-litre ocean tank. Running on the hour between 12-3pm, the Halloween themed event will see real-life mermaids making a splash in the tank, alongside residents including Giant Green Sea Turtles Cammy and Ernie, Blacktip Reef Sharks and Cownose Rays.

For those looking for a true scare, Sea Life Manchester’s Mermaid Scaretacular, on October 31st,  is sure to be a real (trick or) treat. From 6pm until 9pm the attraction will transform into an underwater playground for things that go bump in the night. The event will feature a very special appearance from Sea Life Manchester’s very own Sea Witch.

Speaking on the attraction’s Halloween offering, Jenn McDonough, General Manager Manchester Cluster, said: “Halloween provides a brilliant opportunity for us to highlight some of the creepy creatures that call the ocean home. Here at Sea Life Manchester, we have some much-loved monsters of our own, from slippery eels to giant spider crabs, the attraction is filled with weird and wonderful creatures.”

Mermaid Scaretacular is a new family-friendly event for Halloween 2019, spaces are limited and tickets are £12pp and need to be booked in advance online.

Sea Life Manchester’s Ascarium is suitable for the whole family and included in the standard admission price for the attraction.
