Bollywood singing legend and culinary pioneer Asha Bhosle has been awarded the Inspiration Award at the prestigious British Curry Awards 2018.

Asha’s, which has a lavish restaurant on Peter Street in Manchester, has been championing authentic Indian Cuisine and culinary innovation in the city since 2015.

The British Curry Awards 2018, which are now in their 14th year, are commonly dubbed the ‘Oscars’ of the curry world.

Famous faces in attendance at this year’s ceremony included comedian Russell Brand, Transport Secretary Chris Grayling and TV presenter Hardeep Kohli.

This year’s Inspiration Award means Asha’s has now won for three consecutively years at the esteemed awards.

Asha Bhosle thanked the organisers of her award from her residence in Mumbai via video link. She sent her thanks to the organisers and customers, saying: “I am very proud to be part of The British Curry Awards and the UK Hospitality Scene”.

Asha herself truly is an inspiration in the world of Indian cuisine. Her dishes really raise the bar and stand her apart, with an authentic flair of traditional Indian cooking with a modern twist. Many of her dishes are even accompanied by notes from Asha herself, explaining their connections with her life and career.

Since first opening in Dubai in 2002, Asha’s restaurants around the world have enjoyed a wealth of critical commendation and industry accolades.

They have drawn in some of the biggest names that Bollywood have known and the opening of the UK restaurants in Manchester and Birmingham serve some of the UK’s biggest stars.

Asha’s Manchester, situated opposite the Theatre Royal in Peter Street, occupies one of the city’s finest Victorian palazzo buildings. Inside, elegant interiors and lavish comfort befitting an Indian palace await – a setting worthy of Michelin-listed Indian cuisine.

Combining a decedent menu with a plush cocktail and wine list, Asha’s inspires to have it guests leave feeling like Royalty, especially with the ‘Presidents Platter’ on offer.
