A young child is in hospital with life threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Heywood last night
The child, a pedestrian, was hit by a vehicle near to the junction of York Street with Hartley Street around 7.45pm
The road was closed for several hours whilst investigations were carried out, before being reopened.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving whilst the investigation it the collision continues.
