This means pedestrians and vehicles can be stopped and searched for weapons. The S60 was implemented at 9.40am this morning, Saturday 11 February 2023, and will run for 24 hours until tomorrow morning, Sunday 12 February 2023.

The areas incorporated within the S60 stop and search order are shown on the pictured map.

DI Charlotte Poole from Salford CID said: “This was a spontaneous attack, in which a young man has received a stab wound to the neck. Thankfully, it’s not life-threatening, or life-changing, but it has still left the young man in hospital, recovering from surgery he’s had to have for a very serious injury.

“We have initiated the S60 and we would like to reassure members of the local community that this seems to be an isolated attack. We will have more officers around Little Hulton today and they will be happy to speak to anyone who may have more information on this incident, that may be able to help us locate these two men.

“We are also appealing to anyone who may have any CCTV, dashcam and doorbell footage available from the time of the incident, to come forward.
