One of the most exciting things in the run-up to Christmas is the limited-edition festive menus which many of our favourite chains offer – from seasonal sandwiches and drinks to pastries filled with festive ingredients.

Excitingly, many of these Christmassy food options will be available for delivery this year via delivery apps, so you can enjoy them from the comfort of your own home.

To discover which of these festive foods are officially the best, restaurant and takeaway insurance website MoneyBeach.co.uk is hiring a Festive Food Tester.

The role will involve sampling a range of the nation’s most popular Christmas dishes, snacks and drinks and reviewing them based on taste, value for money and ‘festive-ness’.

The successful applicant will be provided with the funds (£75) to order a range of Yuletide yumminess from places like Greggs, KFC, Costa Coffee and McDonalds. It is a fully remote task, as all delicious items will be ordered via delivery apps like Deliveroo, UberEats and Just Eat.

They will then be required to review each item, commenting on the taste, value for money and – most importantly – how Christmassy it makes them feel. All the information will be used to officially crown the best festive food in the UK.

Applications are now open to anyone over the age of 18 in the UK, and those wishing to apply will need to detail why they feel they are right for the job.

“As a specialist website for restaurant and takeaway insurance, we keep a keen eye on takeaway trends in the UK. This year is the first year that many limited-edition Christmas menus have been available for delivery at home, and it prompted us to wonder if we could find out once and for all which festive food is officially the best. We’ll be looking for someone who loves Christmas as much as they love takeaways, as it’s really important for us to know how much festive joy each dish or snack brings.”
