Service personnel and their families from across the city came to St Peter’s Square, which is held to honour and recognise the contribution of the armed forces throughout the ages.

Visitors to the event, werealso be able to witness a light gun display, military vehicles and the cockpit of a Jet Provost used by the RAF.
The video shows the parade of the Veterans’ Static Parade of Standards, accompanied by music from the Lancashire Artillery Band.

The Veterans were presented to Manchester’s Lord Mayor Cllr Paul Murphy OBE who said that the event is a chance for us to show our gratitude and respect to all members of the Armed Forces, both past and present, and to show solidarity to Mancunians whose loved ones have been involved in conflict.
