UA92 co-founder, Gary Neville, and CEO, Sara Prowse, will welcome a host of leaders from across Greater Manchester and the North West on Wednesday 25 May as they host a breakfast discussion on improving youth outcomes in the region.
Based in Old Trafford, University Academy 92 (UA92) is co-founded by the Class of ‘92 and Lancaster University. With aims to make higher education accessible to all, it currently serves over 400 students, over 70% of whom are from the Greater Manchester region, offering a portfolio of degree and higher education courses across business, sport, media and digital disciplines.
The event, ‘Working Together for Young People’ will take place on Wednesday 25 May from 8am, and give businesses and key stakeholders from across the North West the chance to discuss how to improve career opportunities for young people through better collaboration.
Attendees will hear from both Gary Neville and Sara Prowse, who will also debate the progress of the Government’s Whitepaper on Levelling Up, which focused heavily on educational equality across the North, and promised extra funding and support for six of the 10 Greater Manchester boroughs, named as Education Investment Areas.
A number of high profile names will also speak at the event, including Diane Modahl, Chair of Greater Manchester’s Young Person’s Task Force; Stuart Dunne, CEO of youth charity, Youth Focus North West; Lou Cordwell, Chair at the Greater Manchester LEP; and Henri Murison, Director of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership.
The event will also provide an update on UA92’s business partnership programme. Having already signed successful partnership deals with leading names including Microsoft, Gateley, TalkTalk, KPMG and Manchester United, the programme allows students to benefit from mentors, guest lectures and work experience opportunities, in addition to character and personal development guidance, and financial support beyond traditional scholarships and government loans.
Registrations by business leaders from across Greater Manchester and the North West can be made on Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/
