The UK economy grew slightly in August, according to the latest official figures.
The economy expanded by 0.1%, the Office for National Statistics said, after contracting by 0.1% in July.
The monthly rise was underpinned by a 0.4% increase in industrial production while services output was flat and construction declined by 0.3%.
Britain’s economy is on course to have the second-fastest growth among the Group of Seven nations after the United States, the International Monetary Fund said earlier this week.
