Police  investigating a gunpoint robbery at a shop in Trafford back in January have made two arrests.

Two youths aged 16 and 17 years were arrested on suspicion of robbery and have been bailed pending further enquiries.

A masked man stormed into the shop on Irlam Road in Flixton on the 21st January and pointed a handgun at a staff members face before demanding cash and cigarettes and fleeing the scene towards Kenilworth Road on foot.

Officers launched an investigation and following the release of CCTV, a youth presented himself at Stretford Police Station.

Detective Constable Simon Johnson, of GMP’s Trafford Borough, said: “Thanks to the response from the CCTV, we have been able to move forward with our investigation.

“Our enquiries are still ongoing so if anyone is holding any information that would help us, please get in touch.”
