The new Prime Minister Liz Truss has removed four prominent Rishi Sunak allies from the Government, but  appointed two of her closest allies, Mr Kwarteng and Therese Coffey into top jobs.

Dominic Raab,Grant Shapps,Steve Barclay and George Eustice have all been sacked tonight.

Kwasi Kwarteng has been appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer and Suella Braverman has been made Home Secretary

James Cleverly has been appointed Foreign Secretary, while Ben Wallace has been re-appointed Defence Secretary.

Therese Coffey will serve as Deputy Prime Minister and Health Secretary while Kit Malthouse will be the new Education Secretary

Simon Clarke MP has been appointed Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and Anne-Marie Trevelyan moves to become Secretary of State for Transport.

Jacob Rees-Mogg will be Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and Chris Heaton-Harris is the new Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.

Other appointments include leadership contender Penny Mordaunt who has been appointed Commons Leader,Brandon Lewis as Justice Secretary while Ben Wallace retains his role as Defence Secretary,

Nadhim Zahawi is the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster who also has the roles of minister for intergovernmental relations and minister for equalities and Jake Berry has been appointed Minster without Portfolio.

Kemi Badenoch is Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade and Chloe Smith is Work and Pensions Secretary

Michelle Donelan was appointed Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport

Lord True CBE has been appointed Lord Privy Seal and Leader of the House of Lords and Ranil Jayawardena is the new Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
