Three Greater Manchester MP’s Labour MPs Jim McMahon, Paul Waugh and Elsie Blundell have urged Justice Secretary David Lammy to extend the criminal exclusion zone of Shabir Ahmed, the freed ringleader of a Rochdale grooming gang.

The three who represent areas where Ahmed committed his offenses, have asked Lammy to make sure the zone covers the whole of the northwest of England and Yorkshire.

Ahmed, 73, was released from prison last week after serving 14 years of a 22 year sentence for 30 child rape offences

Pakistan is expected to refuse to take back the Rochdale grooming gang leader despite plans to change the law so he can be deported

It is demanding the extradition of two political dissidents from the UK in exchange for accepting the return of Ahmed
