Three people who were arrested following yesterday’s disorder in Salford have been charged

Anthony Balderstone aged 37 of Lancashire Hill, Heaton Norris has been charged with being drunk and disorderly and being in possession of a class A drug.

Brandon Lawrence aged 20 of Grasmere Road, Swinton has been charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Lee Williams 19 of Gravenmoor Drive, Salford has been charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place.

All three have been bailed.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article. A 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of theft and public order. They have both been bailed.

Detective Chief Inspector Helen Bagnall, of Salford District, said: “We are making significant progress with this investigation and have secured another two arrests and three more charges, alongside the charge secured against a 16-year-old girl last night.

“I would like to reiterate that this form of disorder will not be tolerated in our communities.

“There have been no additional incidents since our last updated. We have comprehensive plans ready to address any future incidents in the area, and our officers will respond promptly if necessary.”
