Assembled Junk Productions and James Baker Productions presents Jim Cartwright’s highly admired and iconic play, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice.

The play tells the story of a shy, reclusive girl with a hidden talent; Little Voice can impersonate female divas from Edith Piaf to Judy Garland. Living alone with her drunken mother Mari, and nothing but her late father’s classic LP’s as her escape from the drone of life and her mothers scathing voice, things quickly change when new man and talent scout, Ray Say, sees the potential in exploiting Little Voice’s talent and sets about making her a star.

In a time where X-Factor promotes the idea of instant stardom, The Rise And Fall has never been so valuable and significant.

The Kings Arms is no stranger to hosting Assembled Junk’s productions. The show will run for 16 performances from 15th-26th April. With previous shows being in high demand, it is likely the show will sell out.

It will be directed and designed by James Baker who says

“Little Voice is an iconic Northern play perfect for Northern audiences. A pub gives us the ideal backdrop and allows us to draw on the natural parallels between the world of the play and our own; and we have some ambitious ideas to help those two worlds meet”.
